{Many Babies Learn How To "Talk" At Ten Months Old or Even Sooner}

{

Did you ever think about coaching your baby to use Sign Language?  It truly is a marvelous idea.  Not only can it speed bonding you and your little one, but a baby can use Sign Language much sooner than he or she can speak words – quite frequently by several months!  Wouldn’t it be a benefit to you to cut way back on your baby’s tantrums and frustration at home?  It can make your life easier if you will teach your baby to “speak” to you in Sign.

For an example, imagine that your ten-month-old baby is thirsty and wants a drink of milk, certainly not fruit juice and certainly not water.  The baby begins to fuss.  You begin the ritual of checking the condition of the diaper; checking for a fever; removing objects from the baby’s toy bag item by item, repeating ”Is this the one?”  You even show the baby a bottle of juice – but the little one wails in disappointment and frustration when he or she realizes the bottle is filled with something that he or she affirmatively does NOT want.  Now both of you, and everyone within earshot, are totally frazzled; the baby is in tears, and you aren’t far behind.

All of this disruption can be circumvented, even in the case of a pre-verbal child.  All the baby would have to know, and would have to do, is make a Sign to you which you both recognize, and the result would be instant communicationbetween yourself and the baby.  You could go to the refrigerator and get the child the milk, and peace would reign again.  Doesn’t that sound appealing?

It actually is possible!

Teaching your baby to Sign requiresonly a small amount of extra time and can give a lifetime of benefits.  Children who have been taught how to Sign have been shown to excel scholastically, emotionally, and socially.
